Who are we?

SMASH is led by a group of dedicated local volunteers who love this village and feel privileged to live here. 

However, we are concerned that Medstead will lose its village character and be further urbanised if continued speculative applications or large scale housing developments are permitted here. The southern part of Medstead alone has accommodated approx. 300 new dwellings over the last 6 years. Now we need only moderate numbers of smaller dwellings for new households, young families and downsizing older people.

We want to save the green fields and wildlife in and around Medstead for all future generations.
